The hard line created between the minerals glides across the image while the unseen miners continue to strip important resources from the earth.

In the second piece, the continuation of rich yellows and oranges of the soil keep contrasting with the darkness of the bleak coal.

The images in the series were captured over a number of months above the city of Melbourne, Australia and it's surrounding regions. Over the years of living and working in this city, I have become very familiar with it's set up and design and from the various different landmarks I can easily navigate my way around on the ground and in the air.
