Artist Stop Being Poor - 100 Photos Vol. 1

Earlier this year I submitted work to an open call exhibition hosted by Artist Stop Being Poor group exhibition to be on display in Berlin. Entries were open to photographers from across the globe and after being invited directly to submit, I thought why not.

Unfortunately, like many other events, COVID-19 interrupted the exhibition and the dates were cancelled. Fortunately for the creative and technical ingenuity of curator Stephen Van Kuyk, he and his small team quickly managed to prepare a VR online gallery experience which I highly recommend you check it out.

Only 5 people are allowed in the space at any given moment adhering to social distancing protocols.

More recently, restrictions had eased in Berlin during June allowing small groups to get together. This enabled the exhibition to continue and the otherwise large exhibition was relocated to a more manageable setting at the 20square7 pop-up gallery. Following strict social distancing protocols, the space was allowed to reopen for public viewing.

Flipping through the 100 Photos Catalogue

Although I couldn’t be there in the flesh, being apart of a global commentary has always taken my interest where our combined efforts all seem to play out as if we planned to have our work shown together as a community.

If you’re interested in viewing the virtual vernissage, it is hosted here for a limited time.
