STAGES: Life In Lockdown
Recently I submitted to Monash Gallery of Arts, STAGES: Life In Lockdown. A virtual exhibition showcasing photographer’s perspectives on the pandemic across Melbourne, Victoria.
Like many others, the last couple of years has presented a multitude of complications for our state. New experiences are harsher than others, and the ones thought to be most difficult, now becoming normalised in our everyday life.
Without any surprise, I began to see changes on the street. You’ll know that most of my time is spent either exploring nature or urban spaces, so once I began to see our streets as quiet as some of my favourite nature spots I was shocked. Before 5km stay-at-home orders were introduced, I was able to access the city as per normal.
As schools and universities began to rearrange the way in which course work was to be delivered and undertaken, some students were still required to make way into class to continue their studies.
The campus ground was silent. Of course, highly unusual for a mid semester, though every now and then there was remnants of student determination and perseverance in completing their further education.
Please join us in viewing the entire exhibition in the virtual gallery space. A physical exhibition will be announced when appropriate. We really appreciate your support at this time!
