Construct, is a series of photographs that explore the effect of industrialisation on the earth. These images take a look at construction and roadwork sites, and other industrial environments in and around Melbourne, Australia from a height of between 1500ft and 3000ft. They present industrialisation with a certain grandeur, and yet successfully highlight the more destructive effects of human activity.
“From the air, there is always something to see, learn and understand” says Allen, who’s primary interest is to reconnect viewers with the human effort behind the satisfaction of our consumer desires and how demanding this is on our planet.
